Nepenthes Rafflesiana

Nepenthes rafflesiana is a large growing lowland Nepenthes from Borneo, Malaysia and Sumatra with long leaves reaching up to two feet or more in length. Pitchers of typical forms are generally four to five inches in height and heavily blotched in reds and/or purples. The elongate, funnel upper pitchers are just as colorful as the lower, fatter pitchers. There are quite a few variable forms of N. rafflesiana. The giant forms can drop pitchers in excess of a foot tall, extending from five foot long tendrils.
